Displayed with a plus (+) or minus (−) sign. A positive value shows the profit on a RM100 bet, while a negative value shows how much you need to stake to profit RM100.
A traditional British format still used in some markets. The numerator represents profit and the denominator represents the stake. Less popular in Malaysia than Decimal format.

Many new players at MBI 8 come in with a solid knowledge of sports but have no idea how to read odds properly. Yet reading odds is the single most fundamental skill in Sports Betting – without it, you're just guessing with no real basis.
Match odds are more than just a figure showing how much you can win. They reflect the platform's assessment of the probability of each possible outcome, including the platform's own margin. Players who understand how to read odds can identify bets with genuine value – that is, when the true probability of an outcome is higher than what the odds suggest.
At MBI 8, odds are displayed in a straightforward decimal format. The basic formula is:
Total Returns = Stake × Odds
Net Profit = (Stake × Odds) − Stake

→ Returns = RM200 × 2.35 = RM470
→ Net profit = RM470 − RM200 = RM270
Simple enough, right? Now imagine placing a bet on three matches at once in a single parlay. At MBI 8, parlay odds are calculated by multiplying all individual odds together. A RM100 bet across three matches with odds of 1.85, 2.10, and 1.95 respectively gives a combined odds of 7.57 – meaning a potential return of RM757 from just RM100.
Every set of odds carries an "implied probability" – the platform's estimate of how likely a given outcome is. The calculation is straightforward:
Implied Probability (%) = 1 ÷ Odds × 100
Example: Odds 2.50 → 1 ÷ 2.50 × 100 = 40%
Odds 1.67 → 1 ÷ 1.67 × 100 = 60%
If the total implied probability of all outcomes in a match exceeds 100%, the difference represents the platform's profit margin (vig/juice).
Asian Handicap is the most popular market among Malaysian and Southeast Asian bettors in general. It is designed to level the playing field between two teams of differing quality by giving the weaker team a goal advantage.
A zero handicap (0) means your stake is fully refunded if the match ends in a draw. A half-ball handicap (0.5) eliminates any possibility of a refund – you either win or lose in full. A quarter-ball handicap (0.25, 0.75) splits your stake into two equal parts across two different lines.
Over/Under Market at MBI 8 lets you bet on the total number of goals scored in a match. The most common line is 2.5 goals – you bet on whether the total goals will exceed 2 (minimum 3 goals, "Over") or fall short of 3 (maximum 2 goals, "Under").
This is the most straightforward form of betting – pick who wins or whether the match ends in a draw. The symbol 1 represents a home team win, X means a draw, and 2 is an away team win. This market works well for leagues where draws occur at a relatively high rate.
For Liga Super Malaysia matches, draw odds tend to be higher than in European leagues because local matches more frequently produce unpredictable results when the two sides are closely matched. This is an opportunity that players who focus solely on their favourite team often overlook.
This market requires you to predict the exact final score of a match. Odds are typically very high – reaching 10.0, 20.0, or more – but the chances of winning are low. The best approach for this market is to keep stakes small and avoid making it your main bet in any session at MBI 8.
You bet on a specific player to score first or to score at any point during the match. This market is hugely popular for EPL games on MBI 8 as Malaysian players have in-depth knowledge of star strikers like Erling Haaland, Mohamed Salah, and other top players.
"Value bet" is the concept that separates casual bettors from truly serious ones. It occurs when you believe the real probability of an outcome is higher than what the odds at MBI 8.
For example, if MBI 8 offers odds of 3.00 on Team A – implying a 33.3% probability – but your own analysis suggests Team A has a closer to 42% chance of winning, that is a value bet. Over the long run, consistently backing value bets will generate profit even when individual bets don't always come through.

2. Convert to odds: 1 ÷ 0.42 = Odds 2.38
3. If MBI 8 offers odds ≥ 2.38 for this selection, it's a value bet.
4. Only bet when the odds are higher than your calculated "fair odds".
